IMPORT utility for Google-CALENDAR

When one wants to transfer an AGENDA from an old Google account to a new Google account, this is in principle easy:

  • We EXPORT all the AGENDA with all its events from the OLD Google account to a file.
  • Then we IMPORT this file into the NEW Google account.

But as soon as an AGENDA has a few years of seniority and one wishes to keep the history of events it contains, the size of the agenda content and the number of events can quickly become significant.

And that’s where we find ourselves stuck. Attempts result in an inconsistent message from Google-Calendar simply saying "Error - Try again later". We can always retry indefinitely, never get there. Google-Agenda gives no explanation but the IMPORT is impossible.

In reality, Google limits the size of calendars to import according to 3 values:

  • The file size at IMPORT is limited to 1 MB.
  • The number of events in the file to IMPORT is limited to 1,000.
  • The TOTAL number of CALENDAR events in the Google account is limited to 50,000.

Martin-CALENDAR is the utility designed to bypass these limits.
