. . . Martin-CHOIR — Martin-TIMELINE |
Software to create FACEBOOK for CHOIRS ("Organization Chart with Pictures"). The resulting document can also be defined as "Choir members list with pictures". The interface of the software is in French or English. The language can be switched between the two at any time, even during use; the data remains unchanged, only the interface changes.
But the data processed (Names, first names, information) as well as the paper or PDF prints are IN ALL THE LANGUAGES OF THE WORLD.
«All languages» are not only Latin languages with all their variants of the accentuations of Northern and Eastern Europe:
The generic terms that dot the final document benefit from a dictionary of automatic translation in many languages. For example: Čeština (Czeech), Dansk (Danish), Español (Spanish), German (German), Grek (Greek), Hrvatski (Croatian), Íslenskur (Icelandic), Italiano (Italian), Magyar (Hungarian), Nederland (Dutch), Norsk (Norwegian), Polski (Polish), Português (Portuguese), Slovenščina (Slovenian), Slovenský (Slovak), Suomalainen (Finnish), Svenska (Swedish), Türkçe (Turkish), български (Bulgarian), Русский (Russian), Српски (Serbian), հայերեն (Armenian), عرب (Arab), ไทย (Thai), 中国 (Chinese), 日本語 (Japanese).
And also in some regional languages: Català (Catalan), Corsica (Corsica), Euskara (Basque).
Any other language can be added once and for all by any user.
Creation of Choirs, without any limit of the number of them, nor of the number of Choristers.
Each choir is defined by its name and logo and can be subdivided into 8 sections: Soprano, Mezzo, Alto, Contretenor, Tenor, Baritone, Bass… and even the rare Oktavist.
Each Chorister is defined by his Name and First Name. The telephone, email address and qualitative information are optional both when entering and printing.
A demonstration choir is included in the application to allow for quick familiarization with the software.
The list of Choristers of a Choir is contained in an EXCEL file. BUT IT IS USELESS TO HAVE EXCEL SOFTWARE (Microsoft or generic). Martin-CHOIR has its own EXCEL editor to create and read such files. The managed format is ". xlsx". An EXCEL file created by Martin-CHOIR is fully compatible (read/write) with other spreadsheet-Excel applications (Microsoft or generic); the reverse is also true.
For languages that use lower and upper case letters, typing can be done without worrying about this criterion. Martin-CHOIR is in charge of good formalization. For the first name the automation will make that at the display and printing the first letter (of each part of the first name) will be capitalized and the following in lower case. For names several solutions are available at the user’s choice:
However, everyone knows that every rule has exceptions. Martin-CHOIR makes it possible to manage them by stipulating that such chorister must see his Name (or his First Name, or both) respected (not reformatted). The items thus designated will be displayed and printed exactly as they were spelled when typing.
Each backup photo is a ".jpg" file. To make qualitative prints the height/width ratio must be the same for all photos. To prepare (rectify) photos it is useless to have photo management software. Martin-CHOIR has a built-in function that allows in a few clicks to resize photos to the right ratio… while cropping them on the face area.
However, it may be necessary to correct brightness/contrast, color tones and other values to unify the presentation. For this it will be necessary to use an image processing software. Martin-CHOIR allows the launch of the software (default PC) with a simple double-click.
A wizard allows you to create automatically (with a single click):
To manage all the languages of the world when printing (paper or PDF) Martin-CHOIR allows to create a translation file of ALL the terms used in these prints. These files are very small EXCEL files. Each PC can have as many translations as it wants. Therefore on the same PC you can release in 2 clicks and a few seconds as many versions of prints (with different language) as you want.
For each impression, the desired level of confidentiality is chosen:
NOTE: to clearly differentiate several different impressions of the same choir with each a different choice of confidentiality, the first page has small logos that represent (if present in the print): Phone, Email, Information. No confusion is possible between the different versions!
There is automatic detection (and alert) of discrepancies between the deposit of photos and the list of registrants. However, in case a chorister does not wish to appear in the photo in the trombinoscope, then a generic drawing can replace the missing photo.
These generic drawings are typed "western". This will be inappropriate for many parts of the world. It is therefore possible to completely disable these generic photos. In this case the photo slots will remain empty.
Martin-CHOIR allows you to manage multi-configuration choirs. Such cases occur for example if a Choir occurs in varying formats (number of choristers). Each configuration of the choir is then the subject of a different Excel file. All the Excel files of the same choir (all configurations) are grouped in the same folder.
In multi-configuration it is possible to prevent the appearance of choristers who are absent from a presentation format of the choir, this is set by a simple check box.
When printing (printer or PDF) the zones dedicated to each chorister are fixed and delimited. Below the photo is the first name, last name, possibly the phone and email. If the length of one of these data does not fit in width then the software tries to decrease the font size a little.
For the name, if this is not enough (risk that the data becomes too small, therefore unreadable) then this data is turned 90° and returned on the left of the photo. At this location we have more space since the height of each photo is more important than its width.

This contract is written in English for the world except France. For France, a specific contract is written in French. English is the language used during the pre-contractual relationship and for the conclusion of this contract.
All exchanges, for any reason whatsoever, between the « User » and the « Licensor » must be made exclusively in French or English.
Complaints may be addressed to the « Licensor » using the contact details provided on the contact page of the website "https://martin-apps.com". The « Licensor » will endeavour to deal with these complaints as soon as possible (except during holidays) and to provide an appropriate response if possible.
The « Licensor » takes great care to provide software of the highest quality. However, programming errors (bugs) are inevitable. The « User » is encouraged to inform the « Licensor » as soon as an error (bug) occurs, so that it can be corrected for him and the other users if possible.
Two types of errors may occur:
In case #1, the software crash requires the programmer (here called « Licensor ») to be informed of the precise characteristics of the application context at the time of the problem. To standardize this communication the « Software » incorporates an automatic transmission function of crash characteristics. As soon as a crash occurs, an alert is displayed on the screen indicating that a problem has occurred. To standardize this communication, the « Software » includes a function for automatically transmitting error characteristics. As soon as an error occurs, an alert is displayed on the screen indicating that a problem has occurred. This alert proposes to send an automatic message to the programmer (here called « Licensor ») immediately. This message incorporates a dump of the « Software » memory at that moment. Only the data contained in this dump allows the error to be identified, and therefore corrected. The « User » is asked to provide a valid email address so that the programmer can, if necessary, ask for details of the context in which the error occurs. No error correction request will be processed without the use of this automatic procedure.
In case #2, the « User » must write to the programmer (here called « Licensor ») by e-mail communicating the details of the problem encountered.
All information transmitted by the « User » to the programmer (email address, technical data and any other information) is completely confidential. It cannot be used by the « Licensor » for any other purpose than the management and search for errors (bugs).
The « Licensor » will do its best to deal with errors of the « Software » (crash or malfunction), but does not provide any guarantee as to the processing time or the correct outcome of its resolution.
All technical exchanges between the « User » and the « Licensor » must be made exclusively in French or English.
French law governs the pre-contractual relationship between the « User » and the « Licensor », as well as this contract.
The French courts are exclusively competent to hear any dispute that may arise between the « Licensor » and the « User » ; the User expressly consents to the present jurisdiction clause in favour of the French courts.
The contract is deemed to have been concluded for the « Licensor » in his home and for the « User » at the address of the site that hosts the website "https://martin-apps.com".
